The Brew House Hotel in Tunbridge Wells hosts its inaugural charity event on Thursday 16th October 2008 in aid of Kent Air Ambulance.
The Charity Cake Bake and cocktail party is being hosted by the Brew House Hotel and the Cumberland Function Room. Ten teams of 4 people will compete in a cake baking and decoration contest, judged at the end of the day by a celebrity chef. The teams, headed by senior Tunbridge Wells business personalities, will be responsible for raising money prior to the competition as their entry fee. The teams will be briefed over a light lunch in the hotel and given their chef’s whites. They will then be escorted to their work stations where an envelope will await them telling them exactly which design their cake needs to be – and this is where the fun begins!! Supported by friends and family the teams will then have 3-4 hours to bake, design and decorate ever-more complicated cakes.
In the evening the Brew House plays hosts to a glamorous cocktail party – once again in aid of Kent Air Ambulance. A charity raffle will be one of the highlights of the evening, in addition to presentations to the winning team.
Hotel owner and intrepid helicopter pilot, Kevin Spencer, is enthusiastic about the event as it is “something very different and allows everyone to have a bit of fun whilst raising money for an excellent organisation. We are looking forward to also welcoming members of the emergency services to the hotel the following day, with their children, for complimentary coffee and to sample the cakes! We are hoping to make this the first of what will become a popular annual event”.
