Meet the Trustees
Anthony Monteuuis, Charity Chairman  

 

Tony Monteuuis spent most of his business life running his own printing company in London and more recently was Chairman of Adventis Group plc, Europe's largest property advertising agency.


A member of the Kent Ambassadors, he has had connections with the county all his life and is a former High Sheriff of Kent.


Tony is a trustee of several other Kentish charities and in the sporting sphere is a member of Royal St Georges Golf Club and is Hon. Secretary of the Old Tonbridgian Golfing Society.

James Loudon, Head of Charity Finance Committee  

 

James Loudon was employed for 25 years by Blue Circle Industries until 2001 and ended up as Group Finance Director.


Since then he has been a non-executive Director of three public companies and a Trustee of a number of charities, as well as being High Sheriff of Kent in 2004/5. He is also a Governor of the University of Greenwich and Chairman of its Finance Committee.


As a trustee he takes particular interest in corporate governance.

Geraldine Allinson, Trustee  

 

Geraldine Allinson was born (and has spent most of her life) in Kent. Following her education she worked in the newspaper industry outside Kent but came back to the county in 1993 to join the Kent Messenger Group, her family company.


Since 1993 she has held a number of positions within the company including General Manager responsible for Personnel, Training and Organisational Development. In January 2004 she became a full Board Director and is now Chairman of the Kent Messenger Group.


Geraldine supports a number of other charitable organisations and is also a Trustee of the H R Pratt Boorman Family Foundation.

Richard Cripps, Trustee  

 

Richard is a commercial lawyer and partner in the Maidstone firm of solicitors, Gullands.


Richard joined Gullands in 1998 having previously practiced for 7 years in East Sussex following his training in Canterbury. Richard lives in Canterbury with his wife and two teenage children. Although he has retired from playing rugby and cricket, he remains a keen coach, supporter and spectator and is actively involved with his sons under 17's rugby club, Aylesford RFC.


He advises the charity on all legal matters and corporate governance.

Peter Canney , Trustee  

 

Peter Canney was a partner in a Kent practice of Chartered Accountants for 30 years having originally qualified in London.


He has lived in Kent since 1947 apart from 5 years when he worked for ‘Peat Marwick Mitchell’ in South Africa.


During his working life he has amassed a lot of knowledge about corporate governance through his involvement with numerous charities including ‘The Countess of Athlone Trust’ for which he has been trustee and Honorary Treasurer for 28 years.


Peter is a keen cricket follower (and previously player) and is a member of The Royal St. Georges golf club.

Wendy Simkins, Trustee  

 

Wendy Simkins has spent the last twenty years living in Kent. She has three grown up daughters, one of whom ran the Flora London Marathon for the Kent Air Ambulance Trust in 2001.


Until recently Wendy worked part time for a company specialising in maritime security where she was responsible for the training of security officers on cruise ships.


She has worked with a number of charities and was a Governor of a Grammar School in Ashford.


Wendy considers it a privilege to have been appointed to the Board of Trustees where she has special responsibility to the volunteers.

Edward Condry, Head of HR Committee  

 

Edward Condry is Canon Treasurer at Canterbury Cathedral, where he is also responsible for running the educational programme for the international students who come to study at the Cathedral.

 

He studied at the Universities of East Anglia, Oxford and Nottingham, as well as the Open University. He has been ordained as a priest for 25 years.

 

Married with four children, and a variety of other animals, his spare time is spent walking in Kent's woods with dogs, cycling with friends or planning the next adventure. The next project is canoeing across the Channel, and after that cycling to Istanbul.

Caroline Martin, Trustee  

 

Caroline Martin's involvement with the Air Ambulance began in 2004 when she was part of a committee for the first Air Aid Ball.  The ball was a huge success and Caroline's involvement with the charity continued. She was honoured to be invited to join the Board of Trustees in 2007.

 

Caroline was originally from Devon, but now lives in Surrey where she is Company Secretary and a Director of the family's arable farm where she works with her husband Chris.  

 

Much of Caroline's spare time is spent with her two pony mad girls as horsebox driver/unpaid groom!  During the winter months she trains her point to point horses.

Colin Strachan, Trustee  

 

Colin is a retired general and vascular surgeon from Brighton with experience in receiving trauma cases from both fixed wing and helicopters.

 

He has been a member of Council, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh , the Rules of Golf and the Open Championship Committees of the R&A at St Andrews.

 

Colin has previously been Chairman of two medically related Sussex Charities and as a trustee will have an interest in medical governance.
